Angelcare AC401 DELUXE Double Baby Movement & Sound Monitor. The Angelcare Movement Sensor will detect all of your baby's movement and alert you if no movement is detected within 20 seconds. The Monitor also transmits all baby's sounds. All functions and options are programmable from the parents unit for more convenience and control. The Nursery Unit includes a soothing night light. The Angelcare model operates on both 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz frequencies. The sound monitor operates on the 900 MHz frequency so there is no interference from 2.4 GHz equipment. The monitor has 8 channels and an 820' range.

SIDS isn't the only thing that this movement monitor can prevent. When our son was about three months old, the alarm went off at 2:00 AM. My husband and I rushed to our baby and found that he was limp and wasn't breathing, even with the alarm blaring next to him. Terrified, I put my hand on his chest and jostled him a little, and he started to breath again. (Thank goodness we didn't have to resort to CPR.) After that our pediatrician monitored our son for a 24-hour period and diagnosed him with reflux apnea. (He did - and still does - have a real problem with reflux.) Me and my wife purchased this item because our new born baby would not sleep on her back at all and were worried about all of the statistics about putting your baby on there bellies, but that was the only way she would sleep. Now she is almost 5 months and doing great and we are still using the monitor and could not be more pleased! We would recommend this monitor to anyone that is even remotely thinking about buying one. This monitor really is the peace of mind I need in order to sleep at night having a newborn. However there have been a few false alarms which have sent me dashing into his room unnecessarily. It always however goes off all the time when he is taken out of his crib. The sound is also very clear and the temperature reading definitely quite useful. -- Peace of mind in a box
We had out daughter sleeping in a rocker because of her reflux as a newborn. But since she hit her 5 month age, she doesnt fit as well in the rocker so we have moved her to her crib. She doesnt sleep much when she's on her back but since she's under 1 year she still have a small risk of SIDS. So we purchased this so we can have some piece of mind when we have her belly sleep. We have little to no false alarms. When I say little, the unit will beep if no movement after 10 seconds and alarm after 20 seconds. Sometimes when she moves to the side of the crib no movement will be sensed for around 10 seconds, but it has never gone off for the full 20 second alarm.
My only complaint is if I wake up at night to calm her down, I have to shut off all three devices (Main unit, and both monitors). Otherwise the main unit will alarm after 20 seconds, and the two monitors keep beeping that the main unit is off. Would be nice for a mute button placed on the base unit. I dont want to wake up my wife in the middle of the night.
We have used this unit under the pad in the portable crib and under the mattress in the crib and it still works great. Surprise how sensitive it is from such a small movement under the large mattress.
