I had a Bjorn, but had heard so much about how it wasn't good for babies, that it's a "Crotch dangler" & bad for their spine, but didn't pay much attention to that because I barely used mine with my older kids. Well, along came a VERY fussy baby & I needed something ASAP! Thought long & hard about a wrap but didn't want to spend that much $. I found this on sale at Baby k'tan's website and it'a the best thing I ever bought. I ordered it on a Tuesday, it came Friday & my little princess was asleep in it not even 5 minutes after I put it on :-). I love that it's a little stretchy so it's easy to get baby in and out, but is also tight enough that you feel like baby's secure. When it gets a little stretched out (could even be at the end of the day if you wear it a lot or have a heavy baby, which can be a little bit of a pain) you just toss it in the washer & dryer - I LOVE THAT! My baby's a little older now and wasn't loving the snug feeling from the k'tan any more so I bought a Mei tai which isn't as snug all over & that's what I use most of the time now, but this should be on every new mon's list, even if you're not a "babywearing" type. -- Love it!
I found this product in a shop in the town where I live but they only carried black. Unwilling to wrap my newborn in such a dour colour I searched Amazon for a brown one. I like the colour and the appearance of the KTan. It is a very sturdy product. I like that it is hands-free (and very firmly so)--as you have two straps (one over each shoulder, and each one cocooning the baby) there is little feeling of having to hold the baby with one hand. I have managed to get quite a bit done with the sling on. I also traveled by plane within the baby's first month and it was a breeze. As it has no metal whatnots I did not need to take it off when going through security (and have to wake the baby up in the process). That was a blessing! And also, I could nurse her completely discretely and no one was the wiser.

It is much larger and bulkier than I had originally thought, though. It seemed to be smaller than other carriers and so would fit easier into a diaper bag. But such is not the case. It actually has a lot of material and occupies quite a bit of room. I also find the material slightly on the warm side. My baby was born in May and so to carry her around during the summer was an exercise in dehydration. I also feel that you have to be very adept and precise when tucking the baby in, as sometimes the head can be too far down and then the face gets more covered by material than is safe or wise. So be aware of how you insert the baby so there is no fear of suffocation.

In a summary, I like the product. It is easy to use, comfortable, well priced. I just have some of those minor reservations mentioned above.

-- Good carrier, versatile
I cannot wait to use this product. I am so excited about it. The sizing recommendations were very accurate, it is nice thick material, it feels like it will help avoid stress on my back, as the strap parts wrap around the shoulders well. After using a Snugli w/ my first daughter, the K'tan feels like a dream!
I have practiced using one of her dolls, and the positions are easy to attain, and no special wrapping techniques are needed. It looks like it will be perfect for us! -- If baby would just hurry up and get here!
I would definitely say that this is a must on any shower registry. Ordered it after a friend said she loved hers. My baby doesn't like the cradle hold in the k'tan, but we use the outer-facing and inner-facing holds all the time. I have found it to be more comfortable on my shoulders than the baby bjjorn. I use it in restaurants if he needs to nap, and take him grocery shopping/ errand running in it as he dislikes the car seat in the shopping cart method. Highly recommend this!! -- k'Tan Baby Carrier a Must
First off, let me explain .... I have tried 3 other slings/carriers ... all of which were either too complicated (Moby) or hurt my back (Bjorn and Peanut Shell).

I LOVE this thing! It's super easy to learn to use and there's an instructional video online that demonstrates all 8 positions.

Perfect carrier!!!!! -- LOVE it!!!!
